The Sims 4’s Gallery can now be accessed at the official website! Log in with your Origin account to browse, favorite, or download any of the creations into the game.
Popular households, rooms, and lots, and even the hottest creations chosen by Maxis themselves will be showcased right from the front page. Clicking the browse tab will allow you to view all uploaded creations with many of the convenient search filters available in the in-game version. Clicking on an upload’s thumbnail will bring up more detailed information about the item with additional options for sharing it on social media or commenting.
The Pool Tool is now available in Build Mode. Use it to draw pools in rectangular shapes. Its four other options extend to triangular, square, diagonal, and octagonal pools. These can be appended onto existing pools to create complex designs. For example, the “triangular pool” can be pretty handy for creating pools with diagonal corners.
Add some decor with the placement of lights and decals. These objects can be placed both in and outside the pool.
Pools can be built anywhere; from the ground, to the deck, and even the second and third floors.
There’s only a few pool interactions you’ll see on a regular basis. You can swim laps, splash others, or sit on the edge and chat. Sims with certain moodlets have access to a few more interactions. They could go for a ‘playful’ swim, or swim faster laps while ‘energized.’
Sims who pee in the pool, gain the “secretly relieved” moodlet. This boosts their playfulness but makes everyone else “uncomfortably warm.”
This update adds the new “Swimwear” category for Sims of all ages. Women can wear bikinis and one-piece bathing suits in all sorts of colors and styles.
Men can wear board shorts, speedos, and a shark tooth necklace.
Girls can wear bathing suits in plain colors or polka-dots. Boys can choose from 3 different shorts in a wide assortment of colors.
Be ready for the hot summer sun with two new sunblock face paint options available in Create A Sim.
The highly anticipated pools update for The Sims 4 has launched! Log into Origin to automatically download the November 4th patch.
Pools can be found in Build Mode and built using triangle, square, diagonal, and octagonal blocks, or freely drawn with the Pool Tool. They can be placed on any floor of your lot! Pools have customizable wall and floor designs, and can be decorated with a ladder, lights, windows, and decals.
Get your Sims ready with the new Swimwear outfit category! New speedo, swim trunk, bikini, and one-piece swimsuits, as well as a new necklace and sunscreen lotion face paint are available in Create A Sim. Be wary of your Sim having dangerously low hunger and energy while in a pool, as they can now die from drowning.
The Sims forums is hosting a poll where you can vote for a tacky holiday sweater you’d like to see in the game. The winning design will be “delivered” by Santa Claus in December.
You must be logged in to vote.
When a Sim dies, they can now return as a Ghost! Their appearance and special behaviors are affected by how they died. Their color will change depending on their emotional state. Traits and skills a Sim had while alive will carry over into the afterlife. Ghosts can added to a household and brought back to life. Additional information can be found in our Ghosts article.
Dress up as your favorite Star Wars character with new themed costumes! An X-Wing pilot suit, Leia’s robe and hairstyle, Darth Vader’s suit, and a children’s Yoda suit are available.
Fans disappointed by the lack of eye colors can now rejoice! Maxis has heard your requests and included five additional eye colors in Create A Sim: Dark blue, gray brown hazel, olive green hazel, dark blue hazel, and purple.
The Spooky music station has been added to the game.

November Update
December Update
These updates are all FREE and added via patch through Origin.
October 1st marks a special day for any Sims fan who was disappointed with the lack of some features missing from the Base game. Starting today, you can download the patch for free by signing into your Origin account.
When a Sim turns into a ghost, they become a Non Playable Character with several interactions. Ghosts can scare or pass through Sims; repair broken items and possess them too.
You can turn them into playable characters by inviting them to your household. Doing so, lets them acquire a job, get married, or do other interactions like a regular Sim would.
Ghosts have a unique set of behaviors depending on how they died.
Type of Death: Behavior
Sims with high enough gardening and cooking skills can bring ghosts back to life. You’ll need the “Ambrosia” recipe which requires the Deathflower (a new garden plant), the Potion of Youth, and an Angelfish.
If you’re tired of ghosts, you can banish them off your lot by interacting with the urn or tombstone. That’s all for now. See you soon!
