#TeamTrick or #TeamTreat? The Sims 4 Challenge

Trick vs Treat

The true purpose behind the Trick and Treat interactions added in September 24th’s patch has come to light. Running October 23rd through the 31st, the #TeamTrick vs. #TeamTreat Challenge pits players against one another in a battle of the social interactions!

The reward? Three of six possible new items in The Sims 4! Which ones get implemented into the game depends on which side pulls the biggest numbers. The challenge will have three rounds lasting three days a piece, each with trick and treat themed items. Just hop onto The Sims 4 during the challenge days and spam the interaction of your choosing on every Sim in sight!

Like the trick item from the first round but the treat from the second? Not to worry. Just switch teams for that round. Each round will have their own tally, so we could get the trick item from one round and the treat item from another.

The Sims 4 Get Together Delayed Until December

Get Together Llama Board Game

Originally slated for a November release, The Sims 4’s Get Together expansion pack has been pushed to early December. This delay will allow them to further polish the game and add even more content. For example, there is a new Don’t Wake the Llama! board game and a diving rock for Natural Pools.

In addition, the team wants to further flesh out Clubs. A new feature will allow you to choose a signature spot for club members to hang out at.

North American players can expect to get their hands on the expansion on December 8th. They plan to release it to other regions within that week.

Check out our Get Together section for more news on the upcoming expansion!

Sims 4 Update (9/24/2015) – Jealous Trait, Bed Claiming, and More!

sims 4 logo

Just one day after announcing the new Spooky Stuff pack, The Sims 4 has received a free update! A brand new trait and two Halloween-themed social interactions await players.

The Jealousy trait is ideal for possessive romantic partners. Your Sim will feel confident when their beloved is nearby, but tense when they’re not around for a prolonged period. Should they catch another Sim putting the moves on their mate, expect them to fly into a jealous fury.

Jealous Trait

These Sims get Jealous more easily than other Sims. They gain a boost of Confidence from being around their significant other, but get Tense if they haven’t seen them recently.

Sims 4 Treat

Newly introduced are social interactions available for a limited time, indicated by a small calendar icon. With Halloween coming and the Spooky Stuff pack just around the corner, the team at Maxis has created Trick and Treat interactions.

Giving a Sim a treat will slightly reduce their hunger, while the giver will receive the Spooky Sweets Bestower moodlet (Happy +2). Tricksters increase their mischief skill and gain the Spooky Time Shenanigans moodlet (Playful +2).

Sims 4 Claim Bed

Sims can finally claim their own bed, causing them to autonomously choose that bed when their energy is low. To do so, simply click on a bed and select the Claim interaction. Chances are your Sims will have already claimed beds from previous playtime.

For a comprehensive list of bug fixes in today’s update, please check the patch notes on the EA site.

Haunt the Neighborhood with The Sims 4 Spooky Stuff!

Get into the Halloween spirit in The Sims 4 with the newly announced Spooky Stuff pack! Let’s scare up some fun when it releases next week on September 29th.

Sims 4 Spooky Stuff Spooky Candy Bowl

The pack features two new gameplay objects. Reach for a treat in the Spooky Candy Bowl for a spooktacular surprise. Create all manner of jack-o’-lantern with the Pumpkin Carving Station. And what would Halloween be without ghosts? Slip a pumpkin on their head and haunt the neighborhood!

Sims 4 Spooky Stuff Haunted House

Dress up in a pirate, witch, fairy, ninja, or even a llama superhero costume for the new Spooky Party social event. Dust off those old Deluxe Edition costumes for even more fun. Transform your home into a haunted house with ghastly decor, like pumpkins, spiderwebs, tombstones, and unsettling paintings. Lastly, serve up three new ghoulish delights, including an Eyeball Cheese Plate, Zombie Cake, and Spooky Cookies. Try asking your guests for treats with a new social interaction, but watch out for tricks!

Creating a Club in The Sims 4’s Get Together Expansion

Sims 4 Get Together Club Group

As revealed in the initial announcement, your Sims can create and join Clubs in The Sims 4 Get Together. Clubs are groups of Sims that follow a set of guidelines, indicating what they wear, where they hang out, and how they behave.

When creating your own club, these guidelines are set by you, the player. You decide where members of the club go and what they’ll wear when they get together. Restrict child Sims from joining, or everything but! Hovering over a Sim will tell you what club they’re in, and indicate if they’re the club’s leader.

Sims 4 Get Together Club Clothing

Clubs can have a total of 10 rules, including 5 encouraged and 5 discouraged. Encourage members to be flirtatious, or better yet, specify another club for them to be flirtatious towards! Gear your club towards certain skill-based activities, like fitness or painting. You can even get Sims to act out of character, going against their base personality traits if the club rules dictate such. Don’t worry though, as it only affects Sims during a Club Gathering.

Make your own unique club when the Sims 4 Get Together launches in November!

Dishwashers Splash into The Sims 4 in Latest Patch

Sims 4 Kitchen Dishwasher

Another highly requested feature of past Sims games has been fulfilled with the addition of dishwashers in today’s Sims 4 patch! The update only includes one dishwasher type, though perhaps we’ll see more in the Cool Kitchen Stuff pack. The Professional Dish Laborer is available in nine color variations and can be found under kitchen appliances. Just place it inside a counter and you’ll be ready to start a load!

One handy function of the dishwasher is the Load Dishwasher interaction. Your Sim will collect all the dirty dishes in the house, assuming there are any, and load them into the dishwasher. Speaking of handiness, with a skill level of 7 and the right parts you can upgrade the dishwasher in several ways.

  • Increase Cleaning Speed
  • Make Extra Reliable
  • Make Unbreakable
  • Make Run Quieter

Aside from the dishwasher, a number of adjustments and bug fixes were made to the game. First off, you may notice that the appearance of cereal has changed, now sporting a more vibrant and pleasant texture. Mail can now be delivered to the active household while visiting a different lot. And finally, custom music tracks will now actually play!

If you weren’t aware already, you can add custom tracks to the game through the Sims 4 folder in Documents. Just drag and drop your track into one of the stations in the Custom Music folder.

To see what else was included with this patch, please visit the patch notes page here or on the Sims 4 forums.
